He has turned out to be a WONDERFULdog!!! He does well with almost every dog he meets (except he doesn't like our goofy Great Dane because the Dane plows into him when playing). He is now 100% house and crate trained and will kennel on comand. He does good inside and loves to play with our other dogs. Please give Roman a chance to prove to you how absolutely wonderful he can be.Roman was found roaming around Cordova. He was wearing a collar with a Rabies tag so we were hopeful he just got out and that we would be able to get him back to his family. BUT...strange things happen...and Roman's rabies tag was licensed to a stolen dog and he does not match the breed or discription of the dog the tag is licensed too. So now Roman is part of our Crue.Roman would do best in a family with older children (Jr High age and up) or an adult only household. He is an active guy and would make a wonderful jogging partner. He would be the perfect dog for a single woman who lives alone and needs protection in addition to companionship.Roman will be going to the vet in the May 7th for a neuter and full exam. Pending HW status, Roman should be available soon. UPDATE: 5/7/09Roman has tested strong positive for heartworms. He will begin heartworm treatment after he is recovered from his neuter. Heartworm treat is expensive and stressful on both the care-taker and the dog. Dogs can and have died while undergoing heartworm treatment. Heartworms are completely preventable. Dogs get heartworms from not being properly cared for. Love is simply not enough to keep a dog healthy.Roman will be ready for adoption in approximately 3 months, once he completes his heartworm treatment.Roman's adoption fee is $125.Please email for an application for adoption or for more info about Roman.(The adoption fee is designed to cover the cost of getting our rescues up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, heartworm treated-if needed, spayed/neutered, all other injuries/illnesses treated, monthlty heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, food, etc).
