Many times our worst images of pain and suffering don't compare to the actuality of what some creatures endure. This is what we know of Calvin's story...Calvin was found by a good samaritan....chained to a street sign. His poor body covered in mange, fleas and ticks. Itchy, bloody and miserable, he lay by the sign. Luckily, a woman stopped to save him. She didn't hesitate putting his beaten body in her car. He needed help, immediately. She took him to the Vet for care. He's been at the Vet for many weeks now. He looks so much better from the first time we laid eyes on him.Calvin is so expressive with his eyes. I swear they cut to your soul. He is so sweet and gentle. The looks he gives us are the sweetest things ever. He just wants to be loved. He just wants someone to be sweet to him. He's experiencing love now. Unfortunately though, he must share it with over 150 other animals. We are overwhelmed with abused, abandoned and homeless animals. We do our best to care for them all and to show them love. We certainly could use a little help. Please, consider volunteering to help us love on these babies, or consider adopting or fostering one of our rescued animals.Update 10/21/08Calvin is doing great! He is quickly gaining weight, his hair has grown in and he is a social little guy. He loves animals and humans alike. He's a happy boy and a very, very sweet boy.Calvin is approximately 2 years old, currently weighs 50 lbs and is finally healthy and ready for adoption!   If you are unable to adopt, please consider contributing to their care by clicking on the donate link below.
