Meet Sadie Sadie is a german shepherd with the heart of a lap dog; A lovely medium sized black and tan female who was picked up as a stray and never claimed. Sadie bonds quickly with new people and has a never ending supply of kisses to give whoever would like one. She gets along well with other dogs and has boundless energy to burn off. She loves playing ball and has a great time in the puppy wading pool! She'd be a great jogging companion and would excel at agility or flyball.Though we were told by the shelter she was a puppy, we are guessing her age at roughly a year old now, based on the development of her markings and fullness of her tail. This means she may always be on the small side for a shepherd. If you've ever wished a shepherd could remain a puppy forever, this is your girl! (Estimated birth date 9-1-08) Still acting VERY MUCH like a puppy when she came into rescue, Sadie had a tendency to want to jump up to greet you but is learning very quickly that this is not acceptable. We're brushing up her leash manners and basic obedience while she is in her foster home. She seems to have given up counter surfing but she does still jump the 32 inch high baby gate when it suits her. Such a smart girl and so happy and so loving, Sadie has an endearing quality about her that is just irresistible. Sweetheart of a dog!Sadie should go to a family that will spend time with her, will continue her obedience with consistency and keep her exercised to help her burn off some of her energy. As with ALL GERMAN SHEPHERDS we strongly encourage the new adoptive family to enroll the dog in an obedience class to facilitate bonding and help with the transformation into the best dog you've ever had. Our adoption fees are: $300 for any dog 1 year and younger (BABY) $250 for any dog 1-3 years (YOUNG) $200 for any dog 3-7 years (ADULT) $150 for dogs over 7 (SENIOR) The adoption fee helps cover expenses for the dogs while in the rescue program including the vet check, vaccines, heartworm testing, stool check, spay/neuter , microchip, plus other necessary veterinary care and training to get the dog ready for adoption. Everyone must submit an application before an appointment is made to meet the dogs. We are not a shelter, but a network of foster homes. Therefore there is no one central location where multiple dogs can be viewed.
