* { font:inherit; } Spirit is a very sweet girl, though shy. She came to us from a 'rescue' organization in southern Mississippi. The rescue group tried to do as much as they could, though sadly did more harm than good. They had multiple dogs unaltered that simply continued to breed. Litter after litter, finally the cycle was broken when we took most of their dogs. There are far too many homeless animals to add a single one to the already staggeringly high number. Spirit came to us along with 8 other dogs and 3 puppies. Several of the dogs were heart worm positive and very sick. Spirit, thankfully, was neither! Spirit seems to have just been through a lot of heartache. She wants to trust you; she wants to be loved, but she is scared. When you initially interact with her, she is shy, though yearns for attention. At times she'll cry out in pain as if youve raised your hand or voice to her. It's so heart breaking to witness. She has no physical pain to create her painful crying. It is emotional. She needs a loving, understanding home. She has never, ever been aggressive, just shy. She does great with other dogs and is submissive. She is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 38 lbs. She is honestly a wonderful dog...she wants to trust....she wants to be loved.
