Black Labrador Retriever - Large - Young - Male - Dog - Jumper
Description
* { font:inherit; } Please contact Kathy (kak6755@hotmail.com) for more information about this pet.Update 9/4/09 Jumper has had a rough time but he's getting through it wonderfully. He had an accident while playing in the yards and ended up with a badly cut toe. Our vet stitched him up, and he has been wearing a bandage for the last 10 days. It's healing well and Jumper is being very patient. During surgery, we also discovered that Jumper has had all his front teeth knocked out at some point. They have healed cleanly, and he has an endearing smile because of it. He can eat regular food fine without them, but it leaves us wondering what he had been through before coming to our shelter. Animal control stated that he was found living under a bridge.Jumper has been learning to walk on a leash and does very well. During his recovery time, we have had him living in our front office area, and we have been working on house training. He has picked it up great. We've also got to know his personality very well - he has such great body language and expression. He is so smart and would thrive with someone to train him and walk him every day. Please come and visit him - he is ready to find his forever home now. He has been through enough hardships, please help us find him a home. ------------------Jumper got his name because he'd jump so high to get our attention when we went to visit the city kennels, where he was. We had to give this beautiful dog his second chance. He entered the shelter 6/30/09. He tested NEGATIVE for heartworms! YAY!! Jumper is a Black Lab/Collie Mix with white 'socks' on his feet, and a big smile on his face. He weighs around 50lbs. Jumper loves people and loves other dogs. We are teaching him to play fetch while he enjoys the freedom to explore our big yards at the shelter. Jumper is ready to find his forever home - please help us find it for him. BEFORE YOU LEAVE THIS PAGE. Jumper is a 'BBD' a BIG BLACK DOG - these are the first to be put to sleep in kill shelters, and the last to be adopted. Big Black Dogs can wait years in no kill facilities like ours for NO GOOD REASON. Why people look past black dogs we don't know. Please visit this website to learn more about this: http://www.blackpearldogs.comand then look at Jumpers pictures again. Look at his beautiful eyes, and happy smile. Come and meet him personally at the shelter. Jumper could be the best friend you never expected. Please don't navigate away without giving Jumper a second look. We are going to give him his second chance, maybe you can too. Thank you.
