Update: 8/10/09 We have really got to know Greta over the last few weeks. She is naturally shy, and for this reason we have been moving her to the front office during the day for lots of one on one time. She responds so well to this - transforming from a shy, scared dog into a playful and gentle spirited loving girl. She is learning to walk on a leash. She still pulls, but will now walk (rather than hunkering down like she had been). She's great with kids, and pays no attention to the cats in our cat room - visable through a screen. She loves to cuddle, and will make a great lap dog. Please be aware that Greta is a victim of "black dog syndrome". Black dogs like Greta are constantly overlooked in shelters in favor of brighter colored animals, simply because of their color. Maybe they don't stand out enough? So please take another look at Greta or come up and meet her at the shelter. We want to give her the same chance at a forever home as every other dog in our shelter. She could be your best friend, and you will be her HERO. -------------------------------- Greta is now in the shelter and doing great! Someone wasn't paying attention and we had her down as a Male! WOOPS! Her name has now been changed from Geronimo to Greta! She is a beautiful black lab (we think pure) that weighs 36 pounds. She's super gentle, and loves to be cuddled and petted. Gentle with children, and great with other dogs. She is around 3 months old, estimated DOB 01/04/2009. Please help us find Greta a home full of love and gentle hands!
